The Ndali-Kasende craterbelt is well known in Fortportal region with over 13 crater lakes.
These are blended and natured in away that creates the walk around them memorable.
What we do
Crater Lakes exploration

The walk takes you along the designed trails. We have the short walk were about three craters are viewed and explained with their different formations and stories as well as a long walk for the view of 7 crater lakes.
There is a day tour that take about 10 hours for the view of about 10 crater lakes and the day ends in a water fall for refreshing with a natural bath.
Top of the World Hike
“Top of the World” hike offer stunning panoramic views of our community featuring the three crater lakes, tea fields, the community and cultural immersion.
It is about 1600 metres above see level and varies between 2-3 hours.

Local Coffee Experience

Indulge in the flavors of our land with a cup of local coffee. Learn to prepare local coffee with experience from the garden to the kitchen. This have been cherished through generations.
Primate Watch
This involves viewing, hosting 13 species, including the famous habituated chimp community at Kanyanchu, allowing almost guaranteed sightings of these intelligent apes alongside other monkeys like red colobus and L’Hoest’s monkeys, through popular activities like guided walks. We also have community conservation projects like Lake Nkuruba that offers a diverse of birding and primates.

Tea Experience

We are blessed with fertile soils that help the tea growing in our community. We offer an immersive experience into the world of tea, from visiting scenic plantations and learning about cultivation to witnessing the ‘seed to sip’ process, including withering, rolling, fermentation, and drying, often ending with tastings and cultural insight
Vanilla Experience
Our vanilla tour offers a sensory and educational journey from orchid to extract, covering planting, hand-pollination (seasonally), harvesting, and the complex curing/drying process, often featuring tastings of vanilla-infused products like drinks or desserts, and sometimes combining with other local farms (tea, spice).
Homestay
Our visitors stay in a local’s private residence, offering an immersive cultural experience, We often involve shared living, cultural exchange, and local insights, ideal for sole travellers, students and interns, or anyone seeking authentic connection with our communty’s daily life and customs. We emphasize living like a local, with stays ranging from a night to extended periods.
Handcraft and Weaving Trainings

Our Handcraft and weaving training programs are structured, hands-on courses designed to teach the techniques of creating, designing, and producing, hand-based items. These programs focus on preserving traditional,, artisanal skills while helping the community especially young mothers and single women, Youth and the interested community members to earn income
Banana beer and Gin Experience
This activity offers a cultural journey through making traditional alcoholic drinks from bananas, involving steps like extracting juice, fermenting it with sorghum to create sweet-tangy beer (Tonto), and distilling that beer into a fiery, potent banana gin (Waragi) with unique banana notes, often concluding with tasting and storytelling

Boda Boda Tours

Our Boda boda tours are guided Motocycle (boda boda) adventures around the crater lakes of Fortportal (52)offering an immersive, local way to see Craters, Palace and Fortportal city, Visit to wetlands and Mahoma Falls and hidden spots, navigating traffic and hills with professional drivers, helmets, and often including cultural stops and local snacks like the “Rolex”.
